Give related devices the same Location (e.g. Landfill) and the viewer groups them under one collapsible folder in the camera list. Leave blank to list the device on its own.
Use Snapshot refresh if a camera shows one frame then goes black (older firmware). It polls still images (~1 fps) instead of a live stream. Video quality: NVR grids use the light sub-stream; a single detail camera (LPR) should use High — the sub-stream is too compressed to read plates.
Direct cameras usually sign in with their own account. Enter the camera's username and the name of a WATCHNET_<NAME>_PASSWORD environment variable holding its password (set that variable on the server, in /etc/watchnet/watchnet.env). Leave both blank to use the shared NVR account.

Applies to every camera unless overridden below. Leave both empty = nobody but ITStaff — you must add a group or user to grant access. ITStaff always sees everything.
Who may retrieve saved footage from this device. Separate from live viewing — leave empty and nobody but ITStaff can pull recordings. A person also needs live access to a camera to retrieve that camera's recordings, and local-subnet (no sign-in) users never get playback.
Restrict individual cameras — e.g. cameras backhauled from another site onto this NVR. A camera set to Custom uses only its own rule; the rest inherit the default above.
Video sets how one camera is shown, overriding Stream mode above: Live (MJPEG) is smooth but uses the lighter sub stream (some cameras look pixelated); Snapshot polls full-resolution stills (sharper, about one frame a second).
